are
often
found
in
deeper

the
18M
mark.

course

With
the
PADI
Deep
Diver
specialty
course
you
will
be
able
to
experience
that
excitement
first
hand

extending
your
recreational depth limit to 40 metres.

The
Deep
Diver
Specialty
course
offers
you
the
opportunity
of
a
lifetime,
going
deep
to
see
things
others
can
only
dream
about.
During
this
course
you'll
learn
Techniques
for
diving
in
the
deeper
range
of
18-40
metres/
60-
130
feet.
You
will
learn
how
to
plan,
set-up
&
execute
deep
dives
with
particular
consideration
to
factors
such
as
increased
air
consumption,
temperature
changes,
shorter
no-decompression
limits,
physiological
effects
like
nitrogen narcosis, hazards and deep scuba diving equipment considerations
Course Content
The course consists of a knowledge development session & 4 Open water dives which will cover:
•
Planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of deep diving
•
Risk factors and decompression-tables review
•
Safety stops and emergency decompression procedures
•
Special equipment, descent lines and buoyancy control considerations
•
Procedures for flying after diving and high altitude diving
•
Orientation to recompression chambers
Knowledge Development
Knowledge
development
is
based
on
a
self-study
method,
allowing
you
to
study
in
your
own
time,
at
your
own
pace.
Home
study
is
backed
up
by
an
academic
session
with
a
PADI
Instructor,
to
ensure
full
understanding
of
deep diving theory.
You'll
also
put
this
knowledge
to
the
test
as
you
go
on
four
deep
dives
over
at
least
two
days
that
range
from
18
-
40
metres
/
60
-
130
feet
under
the
supervision
of
your
PADI
Instructor.
By
the
end
of
the
course
you
will
be
confident
in
your
ability
to
safely
dive
deeper
and
understand
how
to
avoid
or
deal
with
problems
associated
with deeper diving.
Open Water Dives
Students
must
complete
4
Open
Water
dives
to
certify
as
a
PADI
Deep
Diver.
Each
dive
has
specific
tasks
designed
to
help
students
understand
the
safety
techniques,
equipment
selection
and
physiological
aspects
of
deeper
diving.
Timed
tasks,
navigational
exercises
&
simulated
emergency
decompression
stops
are
amongst
the skills completed during the 4 dives
Prerequisites:
PADI Adventure Diver certification (or (or equivalent certification)
Minimum age: 15 years old.
Now
that
you
have
mastered
the
techniques
&
equipment
considerations
for
deep
diving,
why
not
put
these
skills
to
good
use
during
the
PADI
Wreck
Diver
Specialty
course.
Your
extended
depth
limits
will
allow
you
to
make limited wreck penetrations of a maximum of 40 linear meters
Get five specialty ratings including Padi deep diver specialty and Padi
navigation diver specialty and you're on your way to becoming a
PADI Master Scuba Diver.
